What is B.I.G. for Memphis?
B.I.G. for Memphis is a Business Interest Group, uniting to build and support a better Memphis. By organizing the business sector of Memphis, not only will we improve the future of our companies, we will better the lives of our local families and friends.
Our B.I.G. partners are comprised of business leaders from around the city. These leaders gather for Blue Crush™ presentations, by area precinct Colonels and conversation regarding Memphis-area-community projects and efforts. Business leaders are encouraged to voice their thoughts and ideas so that as a team, we can make Memphis a better place to live and work.
Our mission is to emphasize the positive attributes of our beautiful and prosperous city, while addressing and correcting the negative concerns through teamwork and proactive measures.
Why should I be B.I.G. for Memphis?
B.I.G. for Memphis facilitates relationships with local-authority leaders, which will assist business leaders in addressing their concerns in a timely fashion. The routine meetings will keep business leaders up-to-date on what is being addressed by your city’s leadership. The forum allows attendees to express their concerns about a vast variety of topics in an atmosphere of resolution and problem solving. As a team, B.I.G. for Memphis partners will devise strategies to address these concerns. In addition, partners will receive crime-prevention tips and seminars from local, prominent guest speakers.
How will B.I.G. for Memphis help our city?
As a group, we will learn how to address our concerns and problems with the end result being an overall improved perception of Memphis. We, as a community, will feel safer in our neighborhoods, while we build stronger partnerships between the police, businesses, and residents. By engaging in your community, you will build a better reputation for your company and improve communication and community awareness.
As an alliance, we will spread the word about the effectiveness of Blue Crush™ and learn the techniques of effectively deterring crime. We will discover methods of rehabilitating poverty-stricken neighbors by assisting in the development of a self-sufficient and productive workforce for our city. Our overall goal is to improve our perception so we can make Memphis grow.
What is in it for us all?
The B.I.G. for Memphis partnership will work on the continued reduction of crime to improve the safety and quality of life for our citizens. By improving the perception of safety in our community, we will build a better sense of community pride. We aim to stop the spread of erroneous, negative information about Memphis and encourage the distribution of positive and encouraging information. When the perception of Memphis improves and the fear of crime is reduced, businesses will feel more comfortable opening locations in the area. With the introduction of new companies to our region, we aspire to bring more employment opportunities to our citizens. By banding together, we can grow our beautiful city.
